Five Summer DIY Sprays

These are quick and easy!

Summer is here and there are a few oily DIYs that are going to come in very handy this season. I love these recipes because they are easy to make and they use oils that you likely already have in your home. Coming up below, instructions to make your very own:

  • Cool Down spray

  • After Sun spray

  • Bug Repellent spray

  • Healthy Hair spray

  • Tummy Tamer spray

If I had to pick two oils that are very popular for summer, they would be Lavender and Peppermint. It’s a great idea to keep a full bottle, or an extra bottle of these oils around, as there are many uses for them … like in these sprays!

See the recipes below, and adapt to suit your own needs.

Where to get supplies:

  • Spray bottles: Voyageur Soap & Candle, Cosmo Packaging, Oil Life, and Amazon all have good options.

  • Fractionated Coconut Oil: the doTERRA one is lovely, and the same supplier where you get your bottles will also have fractionated coconut oil.

  • Witch Hazel: your local health food store.

  • Essential Oils: I always recommend doTERRA (purchase here)

My personal favourite spray would have to be the Cool Down spray, I have already refilled mine and made one for a friend. Have fun creating your own sprays!

PRO TIP: this spray works well on kids as well, when their little shoulders get a bit too sun-kissed.

PRO TIP: this could also be made as a water spray with witch hazel, but if you are applying to the skin, coconut oil leads to better absorption and staying power with these oils.

PRO TIP: spray onto hands while hair is damp, and use hands to work through your ends up to the roots.
